Bio

Joe Wilkins is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, studio musician and music instuctor. Living on Boston’s North Shore, Joe writes, records and performs continuously in the Greater Boston area and throughout the Northeast. His performances vary from full band with electric guitar to more intimate acoustic duo and trio gigs.

At a young age Joe’s uncle would send him cassette tapes of strange sounds and instruments. These tapes would end up being the catalyst for a lifetime of musical creation. Starting on drums and percussion, Joe picked up the guitar at 14 years old and has been playing and performing for over 20 years. Recording and gigging in Pop, Afrobeat, Folk, Rock, Bluegrass and Funk bands – Joe is a seasoned player in many genres and plays both Electric and Acoustic Guitar.  He also plays Bass Guitar, Ukulele and Mandolin and occasionally the drum set.

Joe uses Carvin USA Guitars, Gibson Guitars, and Taylor guitars – D’addario and Elixir strings and Dunlop guitar picks.

His electric rig usually consists of an Egnater Rebel 30 tube combo amp. For smaller venues, he uses a modified Fender Deluxe Reverb reissue.
